Massimo Soumare

1968年、トリノ市(イタリア)生まれ。翻訳家、作家、監修者、日本文化コンサルタント、日本語教師など。専門雑誌の「Quaderni Asiatici」(Centro di Cultura Italia-Asia "G. Scalise")や「A Oriente!」(La Babele del Levante)、文学雑誌の「LN-LibriNuovi」(C.S. Cooperativa  studi)や「Studi Lovecraftiani」(Dagon Press)や「論座」(朝日新聞社)や「小松左京マガジン」(イオ)や「Semicerchio」(Le Lettere)、映画誌の 「Nocturno」(Cinema Bis Comunication)と協力し、「A  Oriente!」のため、日伊2ヶ国語版である「A Oriente!8号日本特 集」(2002)も監修した。UTET出版 社 の、イタリア語大百科事典 「Grande Dizionario  Enciclopedico Nova」(2001。以後、2003年に 「L'Enciclopedia‐La Biblioteca di Repubblica, La Repubblica」と名を改めて再出版された)の現代日本文学の項目作成。

自分の小説を執筆しながら、朝松健、坂東眞砂子、太宰治、江國香織、菊地秀行、皆川博子、宮部みゆき、宮沢賢治、恩田陸、立原道造、夢野久作などの作家の作品だけでなく、上方落語に関 わるインタビュー、日本人文学者のエッセイ、 日本人作家とイタリア人作家の対談も数多く翻訳した。『ALIA』(C.S. Cooperativa studi)、『Fata Morgana』(C.S. Cooperativa studi)、『Tutto il nero del Piemonte』(Noubs)、『異形コレクション』(光文社)などのアンソロジーに短編を掲載し、日本語、中国語、英語にも翻訳されました。 「CentrOriente」、「櫻日伊文化交流協会」、「トリ ノ市民大学財団」(Fondazione Università Popolare di Torino)で日本語を教えている。

Born in Turin, Italy, 1968. Translator, author, freelance researcher and essayist. With an interest in diverse facets of Japanese culture, he has focused on promoting a deeper and wider cultural exchange between East and West. His work touches not only literature and history, but also language and dialect, traditional stage entertainment and recent phenomena in Japanese society and pop culture. He routinely collaborates with Italian journals dealing with East Asian culture such as Quaderni Asiatici (Centro di Cultura Italia-Asia "G. Scalise", Milano) and with literary magazines such as LN-LibriNuovi (CS_libri, Torino) and Studi Lovecraftiani (Dagon Press, Pineto). Resident consultant and translator for the Turin Chamber of Commerce, he holds several courses in Japanese language and culture (CentrOriente di Torino, the Fondazione Università Popolare di Torino and the Associazione Interculturale Italia-Giappone SAKURA). As writer, his short stories was published in various anthologies, including ALIA (CS_libri), Fata Morgana (CS_libri), Tutto il nero del Piemonte (Noubs) and Igyô Collection (Kôbunsha) and his works was translated and published in Japan, China and USA.

A new anthology of international fantastic literature (Italy, China, Japan, Singapore) was published in Italy on Friday, Feb 11th. It has included three Chinese scifi stories: "La tomba" by Qiufan Chen (“坟”,陈楸帆), "La fine del mondo" by Fei Dao (“一个末世的故事”,飞氘), "La citta' eterne" by Haitian Pan ("永恒之城", 潘海天).
